Al-Infitaar

Shattering (Al-Infitaar)

19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

۞ When heaven is split open, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 Honorable recorders, 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
