Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
