The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 has created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
