The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 to their promise, 9 These are the heirs 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
