We also bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron: 114 and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. 115 And helped them so that they became the victors. 116 And We gave them the explicit Scripture, 117 And We guided them to the Straight Way. 118 And We kept their praise among the latter generations. 119 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." 120 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 121 Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 Recall what time he said unto his people: fear ye not? 124 Do you call on Baal, and abandon the Best of creators? 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 Except the chosen slaves of Allah. 128 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times; 129 Peace be unto Elyasin. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 Lot, too, was among the Messengers. 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 Except an old woman, who became of those who stayed behind. 135 and then We utterly destroyed the others: 136 And surely ye pass by them in the morning. 137 And at night. Then will you not use reason? 138

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
