Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha Mim! 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
