The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
