Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the white forenoon 1 and by the night when it darkens, 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 And do not rebuke the beggar. 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
