A multitude from the ancients. 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 BUT AS FOR those who have persevered in evil - what of those who have persevered in evil? 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 And the shade of black smoke. 43 which will neither be cool nor soothing. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 And they persisted in the great violation. 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 And our forefathers [as well]?" 48 Say: 'Those of ancient times and those of later times 49 Are going to be assembled on the appointed time of a Day Known. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 And upon it, you will drink the hot boiling water. 54 Drinking the way thirsty camels drink. 55 This is their reception on the Day of Justice. 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Did you ever consider the sperm that you emit? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated 60 In the matter of exchanging you for others, and to transform you into what you do not know. 61 You have certainly known the first creation. Why, then, do you not take heed? 62 Have you considered the soil you till? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 "Verily, we are ruined! 66 “In fact, we were unfortunate!” 67 Have you considered the water that you drink? 68 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? 69 If We so pleased, We certainly could make it salty. Why, then, are you not grateful? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 It is We who have made it a means to remind [you of Us,] and a comfort for all who are lost and hungry in the wilderness [of their lives]. 73 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
