The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 on a great day 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A written record, 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
