The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
