Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Generous and recording, 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
