Alshu'araa' 11 of 11
Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
