S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Saad* – By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. 2 How many ancient generations did We destroy? (On facing Our torment) they cried out for help, but it was too late for them to escape. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and earth and of what between them is? Why, then let them ascend the cords! 10 They will be one more army vanquished among the many routed hordes. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. 13 Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. 14
