Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 about the sinners. 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
