The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
