The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day resplendent 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
