Say: Travel in the land, then see what was the end of the rejecters. 11 Say: "Unto whom belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth?" Say: "Unto God, who has willed upon Himself the law of grace and mercy. He will assuredly gather you all together on the Day of Resurrection, [the coming of] which is beyond all doubt: yet those who have squandered their own selves - it is they who refuse to believe [in Him,] 12 ۞ To Him belongs all that rests during the night and the day. He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 13 Say, "Is it other than Allah I should take as a protector, Creator of the heavens and the earth, while it is He who feeds and is not fed?" Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, I have been commanded to be the first [among you] who submit [to Allah] and [was commanded], 'Do not ever be of the polytheists.' " 14 Say: 'Surely do I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the chastisement of an awesome Day. 15 One who will be saved from the torment on the Day of Judgment will certainly have received God's mercy and this will be a manifest triumph. 16 And if Allah afflicts you with some misfortune, then there is none who can remove it, except Him; and if He sends you some good fortune, then (know that) He is Able to do all things. 17 He is Wise, Well Aware and Dominant over all His creatures. 18 Say (O Muhammad): What thing is of most weight in testimony? Say: Allah is Witness between me and you. And this Qur'an hath been inspired in me, that I may warn therewith you and whomsoever it may reach. Do ye in sooth bear witness that there are gods beside Allah? Say: I bear no such witness. Say: He is only One Allah. Lo! I am innocent of that which ye associate (with Him). 19 Those whom We have vouchsafed the Book recognise him even as they recognise their own children. Yet those who have lost themselves will not believe. 20
