۞ IT IS GOD who creates you [all in a states of weakness, and then, after weakness, ordains strength [for you,] and then, after [a period of] strength, ordains [old-age] weakness and grey hair. He creates what He wills; and He alone is all-knowing, infinite in His power. 54 And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will swear they had remained but an hour. Thus they were deluded. 55 And those who are given knowledge and faith will say: Certainly you tarried according to the ordinance of Allah till the day of resurrection, so this is the day of resurrection, but you did not know. 56 The excuses of the unjust on this day will be of no avail to them and they will not be able to please God. 57 And indeed We have illustrated all kinds of examples in this Qur’an for mankind; and indeed if you bring a sign to them, the disbelievers will say, “You are upon nothing but falsehood.” 58 Thus does Allah seal the hearts of those who have no knowledge. 59 so have patience [O Muhammad]! God's promise is true; let not those who will not be convinced make you discouraged. 60
