In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
