Did the unbelievers (who do not accept the teaching of the Prophet) not realize that the heavens and the earth were one solid mass, then We tore them apart, and We made every living being out of water? Will they, then, not believe (that We created all this)? 30 And We set in the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with them, and We set in it ravines to serve as ways, that haply so they may be guided; 31 And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away. 32 And He it is Who hath created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orb floating. 33 We made no mortal before you immortal. Will they become immortal after you die? 34 Every soul shall taste death; We test you with both good and evil [circumstances] as a trial. To Us you shall return. 35 But [thus it is:] whenever they who are bent on denying the truth consider thee, they make thee but a target of their mockery, [saying to one another,] "Is this the one who speaks [so contemptuously] of your gods?" and yet, it is they themselves who, at [every] mention of the Most Gracious, are wont to deny the truth! 36 Man is created of haste, I will show you My Ayat (torments, proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). So ask Me not to hasten (them). 37 And they say: When will this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful? 38 Would that the unbelievers knew that no one would protect their faces and backs against the fire, nor they would be helped. 39 Nay, it (the Fire or the Day of Resurrection) will come upon them all of a sudden and will perplex them, and they will have no power to avert it, nor will they get respite. 40 Messengers before thee, indeed, were mocked, but that whereat they mocked surrounded those who scoffed at them. 41
