The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
