Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Qaaf. By the Glorious Koran! 1 In fact, it seems odd (to the pagans) that a warner from their own people has come to them. The disbelievers have said, "It is very strange 2 that after we die and become dust, we shall be brought back to life again. This seems far from reality". 3 We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a writing that preserves. 4 In fact, they have rejected the truth that has come to them, thus, they live in confusion. 5 What, have they never observed the heaven above them, (and seen) how We built and adorned it, leaving no crack? 6 And the earth -- We stretched it forth, and cast on it firm mountains, and We caused to grow therein of every joyous kind 7 A vision and a reminder for every penitent slave. 8 We have sent blessed water down from the sky to grow gardens, harvestable crops 9 And tall (and stately) palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another;- 10 all this as sustenance for Our servants. And thus We do bring the dead land back to life with water. Such shall be the coming forth (of human beings from the earth). 11 In the past Noah's people, and the people of Rass and Thamud gave the lie (to Messengers), 12 and Ad, and Pharaoh, and Lot's brethren, 13 And the dwellers in the wood, and the folk of Tubb'a: every one denied their messengers, therefor My threat took effect. 14 What, were We wearied by the first creation? No indeed; but they are in uncertainty as to the new creation. 15
