The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
