Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 These are verses of the wise Book. 2 A Guide and a Mercy to the Doers of Good,- 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these! they are the blissful ones. 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 wherein they will live forever. It is the true promise of God. He is Majestic and All-wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 This is the creation of Allah; shew me that which those beside Him have created. Aye! the wrong-doers are in error manifest. 11
