Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
