The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The All-merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 has created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
