Nay, by the Moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
