The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by this land, 1 And you are free to live upon it, -- 2 And the parent and the offspring, 3 We have indeed created man surrounded by hardships. 4 Does he think that never will anyone overcome him? 5 He says (boastfully): "I have wasted wealth in abundance!" 6 Deemest he that none beholdeth him? 7 Have We not given him two eyes, 8 and a tongue and two lips? 9 Have We not shown him the ways of good and evil? 10 Yet he attempteth not the steep, 11 And what will make you know the path that is steep? 12 To free a neck (from the burden of debt or slavery), 13 Or, feeding, in a day of privation, 14 An orphan of near relationship 15 or some needy person in distress, 16 And to be of those who believe and exhort one another to perseverance and exhort one another to pity. 17 They are the people of the right hand (and will succeed). 18 As for those who disbelieve in Our revelations, they are the people of the left 19 On them will be Fire vaulted over (all round). 20
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
