And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much. 30 You cannot thwart Him on the earth, and have no friend or helper apart from Him. 31 And among His signs are the ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas: 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, 37 and those who answer their Lord, and perform the prayer, their affair being counsel between them, and they expend of that We have provided them, 38 and when harmed they become victorious. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 Reproach is only against those who oppress people, and wrongfully spread rebellion in the land; for them is a painful punishment. 42 And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination. 43
