Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Indeed, We have opened for you (Prophet Muhammad) a clear opening, 1 That Allah may forgive your community their past faults and those to follow and complete His favor to you and keep you on a right way, 2 and that God may help thee with mighty help. 3 He it is Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers that they might have more of faith added to their faith-- and Allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Knowing, Wise-- 4 So that He would admit the believers (both male and female) to the gardens wherein streams flow, to live therein forever. He will redeem them. This is the greatest triumph in the sight of God, 5 And may punish the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women, and the idolatrous men and the idolatrous women, who think an evil thought concerning Allah. For them is the evil turn of fortune, and Allah is wroth against them and hath cursed them, and hath made ready for them hell, a hapless journey's end. 6 And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. 7 VERILY, [O Muhammad,] We have sent thee as a witness [to the truth,] and as a herald of glad tidings and a warner 8 so that you (people) may believe in God and His Messenger, help, and respect God and glorify Him in the morning and the evening. 9 Behold, all who pledge their allegiance to you indeed pledge their allegiance to God: the hand of God is over their hands. Hence, he who breaks his oath, breaks it only to his own loss. Whereas he who remains true to what he has pledged to God, shall have a great reward bestowed upon him by God. 10
