The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Mount, 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the much-visited House, 4 The roof raised high, 5 Consider the surf-swollen sea! 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 and the mountains will move with [an awesome] movement. 10 Then woe, that Day, to the deniers, 11 who divert themselves with idle chatter: 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is this magic, or is it that you do not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 Rejoicing in that which their Lord hath vouchsafed unto them; and their Lord will protect them from the torment of the Flame. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with all kinds of fruit and meat, whatever they may desire. 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
