Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
