Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the criminals, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
