The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is no merriment. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
