The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
