Blest be He Who hath placed big stars in the heaven, and hath placed therein a lamp and a moon enlightening. 61 it is He who has made night and day succeed each other, a sign for those who would take heed and would be grateful. 62 And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace, 63 And they who pass the night prostrating themselves before their Lord and standing. 64 who pray, "Lord, protect us from the torment of hell; it is a great loss. 65 "Evil indeed is it as an abode, and as a place to rest in"; 66 And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate 67 and who never invoke any [imaginary] deity side by side with God, and do not take any human beings life - [the life] which God has willed to be sacred - otherwise than in [the pursuit of] justice, and do not commit adultery. And [know that] he who commits aught thereof shall [not only] meet with a full requital 68 and his torment shall be doubled on the Day of Resurrection, and he shall abide in a state of ignominy, 69 Excepted, however, shall be they who repent and attain to faith and do righteous deeds: for it is they whose [erstwhile] bad deeds God will transform into good ones - seeing that God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace, 70 He who repents and does good works truly turns to Allah in repentance, 71 (And the servants of the Merciful are those:) who do not bear witness to falsehood and who; if they have ever to pass by what is vain, pass by like dignified people: 72 And those who, when they are reminded of the revelations of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat. 73 Those who say: 'Lord give us of our wives and children what pleases our eyes and make us leaders to the fearful' 74 They will be awarded the high place forasmuch as they were steadfast, and they will meet therein with welcome and the ward of peace, 75 There they shall abide forever: a blessed dwelling and a blessed resting place. 76 Say (O Muhammad, unto the disbelievers): My Lord would not concern Himself with you but for your prayer. But now ye have denied (the Truth), therefor there will be judgment. 77
