The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
