The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and clustered bananas, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 near to flowing water 31 and fruits abounding 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 on raised couches. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
