Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)! 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. 11 "'And withal, we have come to know that we can never elude God [while we live] on earth, and that we can never elude Him by escaping [from life]. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 when God's servant stood up to pray to Him, they pressed close to him in great numbers, almost stifling him. 19
