Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
