The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and brightening morning, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills the Lord of the Creation. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
