To those who inherit the earth in succession to its (previous) possessors, is it not a guiding, (lesson) that, if We so willed, We could punish them (too) for their sins, and seal up their hearts so that they could not hear? 100 Those townships! We recount unto thee some tidings thereof. Assuredly there came unto them their apostles with evidences, but they were not such as to believe that which they had erst belied. Thus doth Allah put a seal upon the hearts of the infidels. 101 We did not find many of them faithful to their promises, and found many of them disobedient. 102 Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them: So see what was the end of those who made mischief. 103 And Moses said, "O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds 104 And it behoves me to say nothing about Allah except what is true. I have come to you with a clear sign of having been sent from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.' 105 He answered: 'If you have come with a sign, show it to us if you are of the truthful' 106 At this Moses threw down his staff, and lo, it became a live serpent. 107 And he drew forth his hand, and behold, it looked white to those who beheld it. 108
