The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
