Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and the smooth runners 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
