The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
