Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He answered, “It does not befit me to prostrate myself to a human whom You have created from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
