The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
