Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
