The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of delight; 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and continuous shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
